About these verses

Every verse is from the King James Version of 1611, word for word, so the spelling is its own: thine, suffereth, believeth. That helps: the ending -ETH is common, and THINE and UNTO show up often.

A first move for puzzle 1

The code word ZLO appears three times in Genesis 1:1. Try THE, and the rest falls quickly: DPK is AND, and HCK between "beginning" and "created" is GOD.

Questions people ask

Which Bible translation do these use?

The King James Version, word for word.

Can I print Bible cryptograms for a group?

Yes. Print all five on one sheet, with the answers on a separate page.

What does the verse ending -eth mean for solving?

Many King James verbs end in -eth (suffereth, envieth). A long code word ending in the same three letters as another is worth trying as -ETH.

Is there a new puzzle every day?

Yes, though the daily puzzle is a famous quote from literature or a speech, not always scripture.
